Finding a Personal Trainer
There are several
criteria for finding a personal trainer. Of course it's good to find a nationally
certified personal trainer. The organizations that issue the certifications include ACE and AMFPT.
The personal trainer
should also be able to give references. The fitness trainer should be able to
advise you on weight and aerobic training as well as diet.
During your first
phone call to a potential fitness trainer they should be able to describe their
workout briefly. They should also offer a money-back guarantee if not satisfied.
It's helpful if the personal trainer has a website that gives an overvew of their
personal training practice. The first meeting is a good time to ask the fitness
trainer for their certification card. I know I am proud of my fitness trainer
certification and keep it with me at all times.
If you don't feel
completely comfortable with the personal trainer, find another person. Trust
your judgement. With these tips you should be able to find an experienced and
competent personal trainer. |

tennis, baseball and basketball in high school and college. Jeff enjoys
sharing those interests with others and says,
"I was never a total natural, always having to work at the games I played, which
I believe helps me relate to my clients better than some other trainers and tennis
pros might. I feel with the combination of my experience plus my USPTA and AMFPT credentials,
I offer a unique service to my clients.
"Using me you
have several advantages - first I have excellent availability and flexibility
to meet your schedule. Second I constantly keep current with the latest health
